Peoples Trucking Ltd. is currently hiring truck drivers to join their team in Nisku, Alberta, Canada. This full-time, permanent position offers an hourly wage of $29.50 for 40 hours per week. The job requires on-site work with no remote options.
Successful candidates will transport goods and materials across various locations, ensuring safety and efficiency while complying with transport regulations. Only those who are, Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada and individuals with a valid Canadian work permit
Candidates must have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate to qualify for this position. While prior experience is considered an asset, it is not mandatory. Applicants must also possess the following:
Valid Class 1 or A Driver’s License
Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Ability to handle heavy loads (up to 23 kg/50 lbs)
Strong organizational skills, reliability, and teamwork
This job is physically demanding, requiring prolonged sitting and handling of cargo. Drivers must be able to work independently, manage schedules, and ensure timely deliveries.
Operating and driving straight or articulated trucks
Inspecting vehicle conditions (tires, brakes, lights, and other equipment)
Performing emergency roadside repairs if needed
Conducting pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
Recording essential data (cargo details, hours of service, fuel consumption, trip reports)
Ensuring cargo safety and security through proper tarping and handling
Communicating with dispatch for instructions and updates
