Newbrabant Farms Ltd. is looking for a motivated and experienced dairy farm foreman/woman to join our team. Job Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in dairy farm operations.
- Strong knowledge of livestock care, feeding programs, and calving processes.
- Experience supervising farm workers and managing daily farm activities.
- Understanding of farm safety regulations and biosecurity measures.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of dairy farm workers.
- Ensure the health and well-being of livestock by monitoring feeding schedules and health conditions.
- Oversee milking operations and ensure adherence to milk quality standards.
- Maintain and operate farm equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
- Train and mentor farm workers on best practices in livestock management.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across the farm facilities.
- Ensure compliance with farm safety regulations and biosecurity protocols.
- Perform general farm duties, including cleaning, maintenance, and assisting with crop-related tasks.
- Keep accurate records of livestock health, feed consumption, and farm activities.
- Communicate regularly with farm management regarding operational updates and improvements.
Other Responsibilities
- Assist with farm expansion projects and implementation of modern agricultural techniques.
- Monitor and maintain pasture and grazing conditions for livestock well-being.
- Oversee farm inventory, ordering supplies as needed to ensure seamless operations.
- Participate in staff training and professional development initiatives.
- Contribute to sustainability efforts by implementing eco-friendly farm practices.
- Support financial planning by assisting with budgeting and cost-effective farm management.
