BT Mining, operated under Bathurst Resources, is New Zealand’s largest specialist coal producer, supplying over 2.2 million tonnes of coal annually. About 80% of this production is used for steel manufacturing both locally and internationally. The company’s high-quality thermal-grade coal also fuels several key industries in New Zealand’s food and dairy sector.
BT Mining, a subsidiary of Bathurst Resources, is looking for a Mine Geologist to join its operations at Stockton Mine, New Zealand’s largest opencast coal mine. This is an exciting opportunity for a geology professional to work in a dynamic and resource-rich environment while enjoying the stunning landscapes of New Zealand’s West Coast.
Stockton Mine is located 35 km north of Westport, in the Buller region, and has a long history of high-value coal production. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Geologist and the wider technical services and production teams to ensure high-quality geological services. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both fieldwork and geological data analysis. Only candidates who have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand will be considered.
