Job Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a chef or cook.
  • Strong knowledge of dietary requirements, including food allergies, intolerances, supplements, and texture-modified meals.
  • An understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A reliable, hardworking, and professional attitude.
  • A commitment to maintaining high culinary standards while providing nutritious meals.

Responsibilities

As an Aged Care Chef/Cook, your key duties will include:

  • Preparing and cooking nutritious, homestyle meals for elderly residents.
  • Ensuring dietary requirements are met, including modifications for allergies, purees, and supplements.
  • Maintaining strict hygiene and food safety standards in compliance with legislation.
  • Collaborating with a dedicated kitchen team to provide high-quality meals.
  • Preparing a variety of foods, including cakes, biscuits, bread, soups, goulash, and scones.
  • Adapting recipes to meet the needs of residents while ensuring that meals remain delicious and nutritious.
