Job Requirements

To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • EWRB Registered Level 4 Line Mechanic with a current practicing license (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Experience in the electrical distribution or telecommunications industry.
  • Must be a New Zealand resident or hold a valid work visa.
  • A valid New Zealand driver’s license (minimum Class 2, but Class 4 is preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve minor maintenance issues.
  • A keen eye for detail and a “Do it once, do it right” attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

As an Asset Pole Inspector, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting detailed inspections of overhead electrical assets.
  • Using electrical testing tools to assess network structures and equipment.
  • Recording and reporting inspection data accurately.
  • Identifying maintenance issues and recommending solutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations for employees, contractors, and the public.
  • Traveling across South Canterbury, covering areas between the Rangitata and Waitaki Rivers, from the coast to Mount Cook.
