Job Requirements
To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
- Language: Must be proficient in English
- Work Environment: Fast-paced, requires repetitive tasks, bending, crouching, and kneeling
- Personal Suitability: Punctual, client-focused, strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, good judgment, organized, and patient
Key Responsibilities
As a Caregiver/Personal Support Worker, your tasks will include:
- Administering bedside and personal care
- Assisting clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
- Administering medications as required
- Assisting with regular exercise routines, such as walking
- Feeding or assisting in feeding
- Laundering and mending clothing and household linens
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Preparing and serving nutritious meals
Other Responsibilities
- Observing and reporting changes in the client’s health condition
- Assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as tidying up and meal preparation
- Supporting clients with mobility and transfers
- Escorting clients to medical appointments and outings
- Maintaining a safe and clean living environment
- Communicating effectively with family members and healthcare professionals
