Job Requirements
To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience preferred, but not mandatory
- Language: Must be proficient in English
- Work Environment: On-site work is required; remote work is not available
- Physical Demands: Must be able to handle heavy loads, work with precision, and maintain strong hand-eye coordination
Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Labourer, your duties will include:
- Loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials
- Erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
- Mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt
- Assisting in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites
- Supporting framing activities for houses, wall erection, and roof construction
- Leveling earth to meet fine-grade specifications
- Paving and raking asphalt as required
- Cleaning and piling salvaged materials for reuse
- Performing routine maintenance work on construction sites
- Removing rubble, debris, and other materials from job sites
- Directing traffic near or around construction sites
other Responsibilities
In addition to the core tasks, construction labourers may also be responsible for:
- Assisting with setting up and dismantling scaffolding safely
- Operating basic construction tools and equipment
- Supporting skilled tradespeople with various construction tasks
- Adhering to all workplace safety regulations and procedures
- Reporting workplace hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors
