Job Requirements
To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
- Experience: Experience is an asset but not required
- Language: Must be proficient in English
- Work Environment: On-site work; remote work is not available
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long hours, and work in various weather conditions
Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Helper, your duties will include:
- Loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials
- Assembling and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
- Mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt
- Assisting in levelling earth to fine-grade specifications
- Cleaning and piling salvaged materials for reuse
- Performing routine maintenance tasks as required
- Removing rubble, debris, and other waste from construction sites
- Operating and feeding machines or equipment used in construction
- Directing traffic at or near construction sites to ensure safety
other Responsibilities
Construction Helpers may also be required to:
- Assist with the setup and removal of temporary structures
- Handle and organize tools and materials for skilled tradespeople
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures
- Report workplace hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors
