Job Requirements
To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
- Experience: No prior experience necessary; on-the-job training provided
- Language: Must be proficient in English
- Work Environment: On-site work; remote work is not available
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions
Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Labourer, your duties will include:
- Loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials
- Mixing, pouring, and spreading concrete and asphalt
- Assisting in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
- Cleaning and piling salvaged materials for reuse
- Removing rubble, debris, and hazardous materials from construction sites
- Cleaning up chemical spills and ensuring site safety
- Directing traffic near or around construction sites
- Performing other general labor tasks as assigned
Other Responsibilities:
In addition to the core tasks, construction laborers may also be responsible for:
- Assisting with the setup and dismantling of scaffolding
- Operating basic construction tools and equipment
- Supporting skilled tradespeople with various tasks
- Ensuring adherence to workplace safety regulations
- Reporting any workplace hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors
