Construction Labourer Needed in Salmon Arm, BC

Job Requirements

To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Experience: No prior experience necessary; on-the-job training provided
  • Language: Must be proficient in English
  • Work Environment: On-site work; remote work is not available
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions

Key Responsibilities

As a Construction Labourer, your duties will include:

  • Loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials
  • Mixing, pouring, and spreading concrete and asphalt
  • Assisting in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
  • Cleaning and piling salvaged materials for reuse
  • Removing rubble, debris, and hazardous materials from construction sites
  • Cleaning up chemical spills and ensuring site safety
  • Directing traffic near or around construction sites
  • Performing other general labor tasks as assigned

Other Responsibilities:

In addition to the core tasks, construction laborers may also be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the setup and dismantling of scaffolding
  • Operating basic construction tools and equipment
  • Supporting skilled tradespeople with various tasks
  • Ensuring adherence to workplace safety regulations
  • Reporting any workplace hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors
