Dairy Farm Foreman/Woman – Lead Farm Operations & Livestock Management

Newbrabant Farms Ltd. is looking for a motivated and experienced dairy farm foreman/woman to join our team. This position offers an amazing opportunity to work in a fast-paced, hands-on farm environment, where you will oversee daily dairy farm operations, supervise farm personnel, and ensure best practices in livestock management. Job Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in dairy farm operations.
  • Strong knowledge of livestock care, feeding programs, and calving processes.
  • Experience supervising farm workers and managing daily farm activities.
  • Understanding of farm safety regulations and biosecurity measures.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of dairy farm workers.
  • Ensure the health and well-being of livestock by monitoring feeding schedules and health conditions.
  • Oversee milking operations and ensure adherence to milk quality standards.
  • Maintain and operate farm equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Train and mentor farm workers on best practices in livestock management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across the farm facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with farm safety regulations and biosecurity protocols.
  • Perform general farm duties, including cleaning, maintenance, and assisting with crop-related tasks.
  • Keep accurate records of livestock health, feed consumption, and farm activities.
  • Communicate regularly with farm management regarding operational updates and improvements.

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist with farm expansion projects and implementation of modern agricultural techniques.
  • Monitor and maintain pasture and grazing conditions for livestock well-being.
  • Oversee farm inventory, ordering supplies as needed to ensure seamless operations.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development initiatives.
  • Contribute to sustainability efforts by implementing eco-friendly farm practices.
  • Support financial planning by assisting with budgeting and cost-effective farm management.
