Job Requirements
To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience.
- Language: Must be proficient in English.
- Work Environment: On-site work is required; remote work is not available.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work in hot, dusty, and odorous conditions, as well as handle physically demanding tasks.
Key Responsibilities
As a Farm Supervisor, your duties will include:
- Supervising and coordinating the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers.
- Maintaining financial and production records for farm operations.
- Ensuring compliance with farm safety and bio-security procedures.
- Overseeing and participating in tasks such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting crops.
- Supervising greenhouse cleaning and ensuring a clean work environment.
- Negotiating with clients for the provision of agricultural services.
- Maintaining quality control and ensuring production targets are met.
- Hiring and training farm staff as needed.
- Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment.
- Performing general farm duties as required.
Other Responsibilities
In addition to the primary duties, Farm Supervisors may also be responsible for:
- Managing work records and daily logs for farm operations.
- Overseeing the growth and maintenance of crops to maximize yield.
- Monitoring and reporting equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
- Ensuring adherence to all workplace safety regulations and procedures.
- Assisting in problem-solving and making operational improvements as needed.
