Job Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- College/CEGEP education
- Willingness to learn (training will be provided)
- Ability to organize, supervise, and coordinate farm tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a farm environment
- Understanding of farm safety and biosecurity procedures
- Experience in agriculture is an asset but not required
Responsibilities
- Organize daily farm tasks to ensure work is accomplished efficiently
- Coordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting laborers
- Ensure compliance with farm safety and biosecurity protocols
- Maintain quality control and production records
- Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
- Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations
- Maintain accurate work records and logs
- Hire, train, and oversee staff to ensure high performance
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
Other Responsibilities
- Monitor and improve soil health and crop yields through best agricultural practices
- Ensure proper maintenance and repair of farm structures and equipment
- Implement new technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency
- Support financial planning by managing farm budgets and resource allocation
- Develop strategies to enhance sustainability and environmental conservation on the farm
- Communicate regularly with farm owners and management to provide operational updates
