Job Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • College/CEGEP education
  • Willingness to learn (training will be provided)
  • Ability to organize, supervise, and coordinate farm tasks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a farm environment
  • Understanding of farm safety and biosecurity procedures
  • Experience in agriculture is an asset but not required

Responsibilities

  • Organize daily farm tasks to ensure work is accomplished efficiently
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting laborers
  • Ensure compliance with farm safety and biosecurity protocols
  • Maintain quality control and production records
  • Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
  • Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations
  • Maintain accurate work records and logs
  • Hire, train, and oversee staff to ensure high performance
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment

Other Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve soil health and crop yields through best agricultural practices
  • Ensure proper maintenance and repair of farm structures and equipment
  • Implement new technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency
  • Support financial planning by managing farm budgets and resource allocation
  • Develop strategies to enhance sustainability and environmental conservation on the farm
  • Communicate regularly with farm owners and management to provide operational updates
