Farm Supervisor – Greenwood Mushroom Farm

Job Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience in farming or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Comfortable working in organic farming conditions, specifically with mushrooms.
  • Willingness to work in a remote, rural area.
  • Must have the legal right to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily farm activities to ensure productivity and efficiency.
  • Oversee mushroom cultivation, including planting, growing, and harvesting procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain high-quality control standards for organic farming operations.
  • Train and manage farm workers, ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.
  • Ensure farm machinery and equipment are maintained and in good working condition.
  • Implement and oversee schedules for irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
  • Keep records of farm production, employee performance, and inventory levels.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as staff scheduling and reporting.

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and implementing new farming techniques to improve yield and quality.
  • Monitor environmental conditions and adjust farming methods accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and national agricultural regulations.
  • Maintain farm cleanliness and sanitation to prevent contamination and disease.
  • Participate in training programs to stay updated on best agricultural practices.
  • Work closely with management to improve efficiency and sustainability efforts.
