Nelson Farms is seeking dedicated General Farm Workers to join our team in Nelson, BC, Canada. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring hands-on labor in various weather conditions. The role focuses on livestock combination farming, where workers will be responsible for field maintenance, crop handling, and farm equipment operation. No previous experience is necessary as training will be provided.

Job Requirements

  • Physical Demands: The role involves repetitive tasks, lifting up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs), standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and exposure to various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clearing fields of rocks, wood, and debris.
  • Preparing and cutting agricultural seed per farm standards.
  • Cleaning and maintaining greenhouse structures.
  • Planting, watering, and cultivating crops.
  • Harvesting, sorting, and handling farm produce.
  • Assisting with livestock care and management.
  • Loading, unloading, and transporting supplies, produce, and equipment.
  • Operating and maintaining farm machinery and tools.

Other responsibilities: 

  • Ensuring proper care of livestock and crops.
  • Following farm safety guidelines and hygiene practices.
  • Supporting general farm upkeep and maintenance.
  • Reporting any equipment or farm-related issues to supervisors.

Work Environment

  • Working in wet, damp, and unpredictable weather conditions.
  • Handling physical tasks and managing daily farm operations.
