Fruit Farm Labourer – Vineyard Operations at Moraine Estate Winery

Salary: $3,500 to $4,200 monthly (Negotiable) / 140 to 150 hours per month

Job Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in fruit farming or vineyard operations
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and knowledge of vineyard maintenance practices
  • Understanding of irrigation systems and vine management techniques

Responsibilities

  • Apply fertilizers to enhance vine growth and soil health
  • Maintain and manage vine canopy and grape development
  • Monitor water lines, airflow, and temperature to ensure optimal growing conditions
  • Assist in pruning, trellising, and vine training
  • Conduct regular inspections of vines to identify and address any pests or diseases
  • Ensure compliance with farm safety and environmental regulations
  • Operate and maintain vineyard equipment as required
  • Harvest grapes and prepare them for winery production

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain vineyard infrastructure, including trellises, irrigation systems, and fencing
  • Support in planning and implementing sustainability initiatives
  • Participate in team meetings to improve vineyard operations and productivity
  • Work closely with management to enhance grape quality and yield
