Job Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- No degree, certificate, or diploma required
- Experience is an asset (training will be provided for inexperienced candidates)
- Willingness to work in an outdoor environment under varying weather conditions
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Must be reliable, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (abstract) may be required
- Must be willing to relocate if necessary
Responsibilities
- Apply fertilizers to crops to promote healthy growth
- Shear and shape Christmas trees and plants using a knife
- Perform weeding and general crop maintenance tasks
- Fertilize and spray crops following best agricultural practices
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment safely
- Plant tree seedlings and contribute to reforestation efforts
- Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the work area and farm equipment
- Help in general farm maintenance, including irrigation setup and land preparation
- Monitored crop health and reported any issues to farm supervisors
- Participate in farm sustainability initiatives to promote eco-friendly practices
Other Responsibilities
- Follow all farm safety protocols and guidelines
- Support seasonal farm activities, including tree harvesting and special projects
- Maintain accurate records of crop activities and fertilizer applications
- Assist in inventory management and storage of farm tools and supplies
