Job Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience.
- Experience in grain farming operations, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.
- Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment such as tractors, seed drills, sprayers, and harvesters.
- Valid driver’s license and own transportation.
- Strong understanding of farm safety and best practices in crop management.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Organize and oversee planting, cultivating, and harvesting of grain crops.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery, including harvesters, seed drills, sprayers, tractors, and trucks.
- Perform general farm duties such as monitoring crop health and maintaining farm infrastructure.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
- Assist in managing farm supplies and ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition.
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust farming practices accordingly to maximize crop yield.
- Load, transport, and store harvested grains efficiently.
- Assist with irrigation and soil preparation to maintain soil fertility.
- Support farm expansion projects and the implementation of new agricultural technologies.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering seeds, fertilizers, and other farm supplies.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain detailed records of planting schedules, equipment maintenance, and crop production.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills in modern farming techniques.
- Collaborate with farm managers and other team members to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure farm facilities, including storage and buildings, are maintained and functional.
- Assist with budgeting and cost management to optimize farm expenses and productivity.
