Job Requirements
To qualify for this job, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Must have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: No prior experience required; training will be provided
- Language: English proficiency required
- License: Must possess a valid Class 1 or A driver’s license
- Workplace: On-site only (remote work is not available)
- Work Conditions: Physically demanding work, long hours, and overtime required
Responsibilities
As a Long Haul Truck Driver, your responsibilities will include:
- Driving long distances as part of a two-person team or convoy
- Operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Loading and unloading cargo
- Performing routine vehicle inspections and maintenance to ensure safety
- Conducting pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
- Addressing customer concerns or complaints
- Keeping accurate records such as driver logbooks, trip reports, accident reports, and maintenance reports
- Using GPS and other navigation equipment
