Job Requirements
To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Language Requirement: Must be able to communicate in English.
- Education: Minimum requirement is a secondary (high school) graduation certificate.
- Experience: Experience is considered an asset but is not mandatory.
- Licenses & Certifications:
- AZ Class License
- Class 1/1F/A Licence (Semi-Trailer Trucks)
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
- Since this role requires physical presence, applicants should be prepared to work on-site, with no remote work options available.
Responsibilities
As a long-haul truck driver at TipTop Transport, your key duties will include:
- Operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Driving as part of a two-person team or convoy when necessary.
- Loading and unloading goods safely and efficiently.
- Conducting pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure all equipment is in working order.
- Checking vehicle conditions, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
- Recording important information, such as cargo details, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Ensuring the safety and security of cargo by using tarping and other necessary precautions.
- Transporting and handling dangerous goods in compliance with safety regulations.
