Job Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • A Qualified and Registered Line Mechanic certification.
  • Proven switching training and experience.
  • A Heavy Vehicle Licence (Minimum Class 2).
  • The ability to work effectively in a high-voltage environment.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to liaise with project managers and site supervisors.
  • Desirable: Experience with Fault-man network warrants and Transpower switching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and pre-checking switching schedules before implementation.
  • Perform high-voltage switching and isolation of plant as required.
  • Maintain clear communication with site supervisors and coordinate operations.
  • Identify and report unscheduled work to ensure network safety and functionality.
  • Ensure company vehicles and allocated equipment are well-maintained and functional.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Supervisors to execute proposed switching efficiently.
  • Complete technical documentation and paperwork within required timeframes.
