Job Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: No prior experience required (on-the-job training provided)
- Licenses & Certifications
- Air Brakes Endorsement
- Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
- Other Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or valid work permit holder)
- Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Willing to travel for extended periods and overnight
- Must wear steel-toed safety boots and a safety vest
Responsibilities
As a tow truck driver, your primary duties will include:
- Operating tow trucks and other specialized vehicles to assist stranded motorists
- Driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Inspecting the vehicle’s condition before, during, and after trips
- Performing emergency roadside repairs
- Communicating with central dispatch to receive assignments and provide status updates
- Ensuring cargo is securely tarped and transported safely
- Keeping a detailed logbook of inspections and trips
